The pattern that works is a short warm-up: a few minutes of fact practice at the start of a lesson, before the day's topic, so recall is warm when the harder work begins. A live round with the class also produces something a worksheet cannot — immediate, visible information about which facts the room is slow on.
Third grade should learn division facts alongside the matching times tables rather than after them. A child who knows 8 × 7 = 56 already knows 56 ÷ 7, provided someone has shown that these are one fact. Taught separately, the division facts get memorised twice, and the second copy is always the weaker one.
